About Gonzo Bags

The odor eliminating Gonzo Bag (US patent number 8,840,306 B1) was invented by Jeff Poel, an environmental scientist with over 25 years’ experience and a Master’s Degree in Toxicology from Orgeon State University, 1996. He created the Gonzo Bag with his partner Brandon Roberts, who is a marketing design expert. Jeff is a lifelong surfer and scuba diver who still goes out on the big days, and Brandon is an accomplished kite boarder/instructor who loves flying on and over the water.

Jeff and Brandon are, of course, dog lovers and loved to hang out with the Great Gonzorhelli (Gonzo for short) whether working or playing in the cold and foggy but beautiful Pacific Northwest. Gonzo was a Malamute/Miniature Bull Terrier/Shar Pei mix who didn’t particularly like water, but reveled in anything stinky (dead, rotting seal carcasses are a favorite kind of his on the beach). He was happy doing nothing more than simply being with his leader and best friend. And perhaps chasing the neighborhood cats, but we didn’t tell you that! Sadly, Gonzo passed away of sudden heart failure on April 14, 2014. He is surely missed. Jeff now has adopted a five year old Australian Cattle Dog mix named Leo, and a three year old Siberian Husky named Sochi.
